| Made in U.S.A | Fenton Beads began in 2005 when Fenton Gift Shop employee Jena Lane Blair took a bead making class from Patricia Westby of Dayton, OH. Over the next few years, Jena practiced her bead making and sold many of her beads and necklaces in the Fenton Gift Shop. About the same time, a local ladies' boutique began to develop a large business in beads from various manufacturers, and its owners suggested that Fenton enter this market. A Fenton sales rep who sold other major bead lines also encouraged Fenton to utilize its special colors and techniques to create unique beads. In 2010, company President George Fenton, attended an event at Kathie's Christmas near Harrisburg, PA and asked the shop owner what Fenton could make that would be a great seller. The answer was "anything the ladies can wear"
